Reece James has sent a message to Chelsea fans and is aiming for more silverware after signing a new six-year deal at the club.
The 22-year-old right-back, who graduated from Chelsea’s youth academy, has made 128 appearances for the Blues and has signed a contract extension until 2028.
James helped Chelsea win the 2020-21 Champions League and during his time at the academy he won two U18 Premier League titles and two FA Youth Cups.
But the England international is keen to win more trophies as he sent a message to Blues supporters on Monday.
“I’m absolutely delighted with my new contract and I’m grateful for the fans, the new owner and everyone involved at the club,” James told Chelsea’s website.
“I can’t wait to see what the future holds and I am sure we will have a chance to win many trophies.
“I grew up supporting this club and I’ve been here since I was six years old. I put a new deal on paper because this is the club I want to be with.
“I want to say a special thank you to the fans, I’m here to stay and we have a bright future ahead of us.”
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly added: “We are delighted to give Reece a new long-term deal.
“He’s an outstanding player and a real Chelsea man and we’re all looking forward to seeing him continue to flourish at Stamford Bridge.”
It’s been a mixed start to the season for the west London club, who are sixth in the Premier League after their first six games.
They started 2021/22 with a 1-0 win at Everton and a 2-2 draw at Tottenham before suffering an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Leeds United.
The Blues seemed to come around the corner with a 2-1 win over Leicester City – but then lost 2-1 at Southampton – before returning to winning ways with a 2-1 win over West Ham.
Chelsea are back in top form on Saturday when they take on Fulham.
