Talking to Sky Sports (Across FCInterNews), Pioli showed his satisfaction with a decisive derby victory that could have a huge impact at the end of the season.
“What does this result leave us with? We have left the awareness that we played excellent football for 70 minutes.”
The striker hopes to turn the page quickly as his team prepares to face the Austrian champions in Salzburg, in what is just the third European meeting between the two sides.
“Tomorrow’s match will be different. They are a fast and intense team, accustomed to playing well. We will need a high-level Milan.”
No Austrian team has ever defeated an Italian opponent in the previous 10 UEFA Champions League encounters. Milan have won both games so far against RB Salzburg – again in the 1994/95 UCL group stage.
