German Champions Just Too Strong

No surprises at San Siro in the opening match of Group C of the Champions League. The current gap between Inter and Bayern Munich is too big for Nerazzurri Hoping for a different result as the German giants won 2-0 with a goal from Leroy Sane and an own goal by Danilo D’Ambrosio.

after losing Madonnina derbySimone Inzaghi has made some changes to his regular squad. Andre Onana made his debut among the sticks and composed a positive performance, avoiding further shyness to Nerazzurri. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been published from the start for the first time, while Robin Gosens has earned his second hat as a rookie.

In the absence of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez’s offensive partner was Edin Dzeko. Dinamo midfielder Nicolo Parilla was left on the bench – a decision that some might question, given how the match went.

Bayern’s supremacy looked awkward from the start as Joshua Kimmich scored twice in the first two minutes. Julian Nagelsmann’s men pressed high on the pitch and Nerazzurri He doesn’t seem to have any answer.

Onana saved what he could, and distinguished himself with a superb tackle from Thomas Muller in the 23rd minute. But he couldn’t do anything when Kimmich received a stunning long-range pass from Sane. The Germany international outplayed Dembrosio and Denzel Dumfries – who should have been better – and slotted the ball into the net after dribbling past the Cameroon goalkeeper.

Dzeko led Inter’s reaction with a header that called up Manuel Neuer to work. Just like Juventus yesterday, Nerazzurri He came back in the second half after dominating the entire first half.

D’Ambrosio had the chance but sent his shot wide, while Neuer saved Dzeko’s next goal. However, Bayern doubled their lead when Inter were having their best moments. The second German came when Dembrosio turned the ball into his net from a quick exchange between Sane and Kingsley Coman.

Joaquin Correa and Lautaro Martinez had the chance to reopen the match but luck was not on their side. Bayern didn’t have to go to great lengths to maintain their double lead and comfortably kept the match in control until full time.

Inter at Simone Inzaghi’s way is still in progress and tonight’s match has not changed their qualification expectations. In the other Group C match, Barcelona humiliated Viktoria Plzen with a score of 5-1. Even after just one match, it seems likely that Nerazzurri He’s going to need some kind of miracle to get past the group stage.
