A woman has told Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy’s trial that she saw and heard a girl scream “rape, rape” at a party the player was attending.
The gathering was held at a flat near Manchester city center during a lockdown in January last year, jurors heard.
The witness said the young woman was in an upstairs room with other people, but she doesn’t know with whom, and “came out screaming and screaming, ‘Rape, rape'”.
She told police Mendy’s “fixer,” Louis Saha Matturie, “grabbed the girl and told her to shut up.”
Officials came and banged on the door, heard the Chester Crown Court. They asked about the girl, but she left, the witness said.
She also shared how she went to numerous lockdown parties with footballers.
She said one in the same apartment in December 2020 was visited by Mendy’s then-teammate Raheem Sterling, who called her fat after stumbling upon her.
Mendy, 28, is accused by six women and denies seven counts of rape, one sexual assault and one attempted rape.
Matturie, 41, of Salford, denies six rapes and three sexual assaults against seven women.
The process goes on.
